Day 3 of Re:SET Concert Series in Stanford, California. This is the last and final day in the Bay Area, and possibly the best day yet, featuring the newly reactivated supergroup boygenius! Consisting of Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker, and Lucy Dacus, plus their very own selection of artists that they wanted alongside them for the series, rising indie artists Clairo, Dijon, and Bartees Strange. The last day of the Bay Area Re:SET Concert Series will be at Frost Amphitheater on Sunday, June 4th 2023. The concept was created to give the artists and you, the fans, a new, and fresh concert experience, unlike other festivals, each day is entirely curated by the headliners, Boygenius, who last year announced their new, chart – topping debut album, The Record. OMG, have you heard of Boygenius?! They are the ultimate indie rock supergroup formed in 2018 by the amazing Julien Baker, the incredible Phoebe Bridgers, and the talented Lucy Dacus. I am totally obsessed with their music! OMG, you guys! On January 18, 2023, the band totally announced their debut studio album, The Record! And guess what? It was released on March 31! I can't even handle the excitement! OMG, The Record is seriously the best thing ever! DIY, NME, and Rolling Stone all gave it perfect scores and I totally agree! It's just so amazing! OMG, can you believe it?! Their album topped the charts in Ireland, the Netherlands, AND the UK! And get this, it was the FIRST number-one album for all of the band members! And even though it only peaked at number four on the Billboard 200, it's still wonderful! They're killing it on every other chart there is though, hitting the top spot on both the Folk Albums, and Top Rock Albums charts with a number two on the Top Alternative Albums and Top Tastemaker Albums charts!!!
In the album review by Rolling Stone Magazine, the band was just showered with so much love and praise, “boygenius made The Record as a band-band, self-consciously going for a group identity that’s different from the sum of the parts. The album is paced to flow like an old-school LP, with 12 songs in 42 minutes, splicing straight-for-the-jugular songs with detours and in-jokes.
