Re:SET Concert Series: LCD Soundsystem, Jamie xx, IDLES & Big Freedia - Friday at Frost Amphitheater

LCD Soundsystem was formed in 2002 by the incredible James Murphy, who is not only a singer but also a multi-instrumentalist. And let's not forget about the amazing Nancy Whang on synthesizer, keyboards, and vocals, Pat Mahoney on drums, Tyler Pope on bass, guitar, and synthesizer, Al Doyle on guitar, synthesizer, and percussion, Matt Thornley on guitar, synthesizer, and percussion, and Korey Richey on synthesizer, piano, and percussion. Together, they create the most epic music ever! OMG, this band is so spectacular!

They started off with a bunch of singles from 2002 to 2004, and let me tell you, "Losing My Edge" is an absolute banger and one of their most iconic tunes! Their 2005 self-titled debut studio album was an instant hit! It was the culmination of all their hard work and dedication, and it did not disappoint. Can we just take a moment to appreciate how epic that album was? Wow, this masterpiece received so much love from critics and even got nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Electronic/Dance Album category! It's truly a work of art. OMG, have you heard "Daft Punk Is Playing at My House" from this album?! It's seriously their biggest hit ever, and it's sooooo good! Plus, it got nominated for a Grammy for Best Dance Recording – how cool is that?! LCD Soundsystem totally killed it with their epic masterpiece "45:33"! This forty-five minute-long track was specially crafted as a workout jam for Nike's Nike+ Original Run series. It's seriously next level!

LCD Soundsystem totally slayed in 2010 with their third studio album, This Is Happening! It was seriously epic and became their first top-ten album in the US! Then tragedy struck in February 2011, the band made a super emotional announcement on their website that they were breaking up. But wait, it didn't end there, they went out with a bang and had a massive farewell concert at Madison Square Garden on April 2, 2011. It was seriously epic! Shut Up and Play the Hits is seriously the most epic documentary ever made! And don't even get me started on The Long Goodbye live album – it's pure magic!

The band totally dropped a bomb on us in December 2015 with their first single in five years, "Christmas Will Break Your Heart"! The rumors were true and all of us were so excited about this reunion! LCD Soundsystem was back and better than ever! They embarked on a massive tour, hitting up all the coolest music festivals, and dropping their fourth studio album American Dream in September 2017. Wow, can you believe it? Their first album to finally hit number one in the US! That's absolutely wonderful! Wow, can you believe it?! The album got nominated for Best Alternative Music Album at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards, and "Tonite" won for Best Dance Recording! So awesome!
